The True PD Savage - Competitive Hunting - G5 GridCompetitive Hunting: [The True PD Savage]
Ah - Hunting. No sport is as much of a "Guy Sport" as hunting is. Sure, women can hunt, too, but most of them (not all of them) seem a bit turned off by the idea of killing innocent creatures. Not guys - hell, we would kill each other if laws didn't stop us!
That's the idea behind this...
The sun begins to rise over the horizon and the fog begins to clear. You have been waiting patiently all morning for the perfect duck to enter your line of sight. Just then, you see a duck take off from the other side of the pond. It is coming your way, giving you the perfect shot. You raise your gun and... BAM. The duck falls to the ground.
You never pulled the trigger, though! You see Frank, your neighbor, walk up to the dead duck with his dog.
"Hey Frank!" you yell from your hiding spot.
"Who's there?" he asks.
"The guy you stole the duck from!" you loudly reply as you blast a shell into Frank's head AND his dog with your double barrel shotgun.
You can't (well, shouldn't) really do this in real life. But hell, that's what video games are for - doing things you can't get away with in real life!

Red: Player 1
Blue: Player 2/NormalSim:6
Cyan: Player 3/NormalSim:7
Brown: Player 4/NormalSim:8
[you get the point!]
The humans should all be on their own teams, unless you have 4 people, in which case you may choose to have 2 humans on each non-animal team. The team element requires you to be a lot more careful when laying explosive traps...
The objective here is to lay traps, snipe, and all around murder the harmless animals. If they feel threatened (see a weapon) they will try to take it from you, but they won't ever actually attack you. The objective is just to see which hunter (or hunting team if 4 players are in) has the most kills at the end of the 15 minutes. Remember that you CAN kill the other hunters for points, but it is SO much easier to just kill the defenseless animals.
Reasons to kill other hunters:
1. They are taking up your territory.
2. They are in a good spot, so they are getting more kills than you. You want that spot dammit!
3. They attacked you first.
4. They took the ammo/weapon you wanted
5. Their trap killed you.
Reasons to NOT kill other hunters:
1. They fight back (often holding grudges!)
2. They are intelligent (most of the time!)
A few things about this make for a semi-realistic hunting feel:
-Like real hunting, it is important to bait (Dragon), trap (proxy/laptop gun), move quietly (put up your guns so they ignore you), and find high traffic areas.
-The most successful hunter is usually the one who finds the best spot. However, in this game, you can kill others to take their good spots. Also, it is important to find good spots for traps and Laptop Sentry guns.
I hope you enjoy playing this one! It makes for an interesting party game, and it is a different feel than the usual "combat" experience.
