Joh. WOLFGANG MöHRING (Mering), aged 23, arrived at the Port of Phila., PA., aboard the Ship

(*** GEORG, the 2nd Christian name, I only found once, which is in the IGI records...!!! Did not
find it on any of his Church records out of Wallmersbach/Mfr., Bavaria.. This is very strange...)

ALL members originally belonged to the Evang. Lutheran Churches...

SOURCE - FACTS and/or NOTES:

In other words, WOLFGANG was MöHRING from the beginning, but after his arrival, the Surname
changed to a number of aka's, HOWEVER, M ö (= oe) HRING kept near to the original spelling..
as MEHRING (without the ( o ).. Other variants were- (aka..) MERING, MARING, Mearing, MAIRING,
MAYRRING, Mer(r)ing, MäHRING, Mahring, etc..

************************************************************************************************************************************

Regarding ALL of WOLFGANG & ANNA Möhring's children as pertains to their Surnames..

ALL chilldren were Born and Baptized as MöHRING..

However, throughout their lifetimes, the following Name spelling stayed with them in all records:

1 - MAGDALENA MEHRING (Maria Magdl. Möhring).
2 - CATHARINA MER(R)ING (Moehring, Moering) (Anna Catharine Möhring).
3 - MARIA MERING (Mearing) (Anna Maria Möhring).
4 - GEORG MERING (Mehring, Maring, Mearing) (Joh. Georg Wolfg. Möhring, Jr.).
5 - ELIZABETH MEHRING (Maring, Mering) (Maria Elizabetha Möhring).
6 - ** Elis. Barb. MERINGER ( Dau. of Georg & Anna Maria Meringer)..
7 - FREDERICK MEHRING (Maring, Mearing, Mer(r)ing) (Joh. Friedrich Möhring).
8 - John JACOB MEHRING (Joh. Jacob Möhring) (1770-1771).
9 - JACOB MARING, Sr. (Mehring, Mearing, Mering) (Joh. Jacob Möhring) (1772-1852).
10 - CATHARINE MEHRING (Maring, Mering, Moehring) (Anna Catharine Möhring) (b. 2775; d. aft. 11-26-1824.
11 - JOHN F. MEHRING, Sr. (Mar(r)ing, Mähring, Maehring, Mahring, Mer(r)ing, Mearing, Meering, Moehring,
Mairing, Mayrring) (Johannes Friedrich Möhring) (1777-1838).
12 - JOHN MEHRING (Mähring) (Johann Möhring) (1774-1835).
13 - HENRY MEHRING (Joh. Heinrich Möhring) (1779-1802).
14 - ANNA MARING (Anney/Mary Mehring, Mer(r)ing, Mearing) (Anna Maria Möhring (1781-1867)..

************************************************************************************************************************************

MOST IMPORTANT for the Male lines regarding Surname spelling (All Desc's today bear the spelling) is:

  4 - GEORG MERING (1763-1851).

  9 - JACOB MARING (1772-1852).

 11 - JOHN F. MEHRING (1777-1838).

Realize that once you enter a Surname, that the computer takes over and carry's that Name through
all that subject's entries... BUT, the FACTS are: being BORN & BAPTIZED with MöHRING, then
because of a number of John Mehring's in one given area, several deliberately changed the spelling
of their Surnames in order to avoid confusion.. And this SURNAME has stuck down through all of
the succeeding generations to present-day generations.. THIS IS a KNOWN FACT and matter of
ALL Public Records.. Therefore, the computer MUST allow for this type of changes.. Otherwise,
people reading John F. Mehring's line, would think that ALL descendants were Surnamed as MOHRING..
IF matter dictates, then I would PREFER that ALL Desc's be named MEHRING. People MUST
Add these FACTS & NOTES, to show the (aka. SURNAME(s).. Otherwise, when searching public
records for various documents, they would run up against a brick wall in many cases.. Therefore,
they would claim FOUL against the author of said Documents.. Saying that individual does not
belong under this entry, etc.. As is the case, SO many people do NOT have an "open" mind about
such things.. They only believe what they read.. And if these "extra" Facts & Notes are "not"
available, then they read the data as the "gospel truth"...

For example, a man bought the house and property of our PETER MARING.. He had a renouned
Assoc. Dir. of Adams County Hist. & Geneal. Soc., furnish him with possitive proof of Peter's
lineage.. And yet, this present-day owner, also hired on another researcher, whose Name he
will not reveal, list another Parental lineage to our Peter.. And he bloats and brags about this
old Peter Mehring House and property in a big writeup in the Gettysburg Times.. I approached
him and sent him documentary evidence, however, he refuses to accept it and continues to
go with "his" Hanover or York researcher (who he will not reveal that person's name)..

I even sent documentary proof to the Gettysburg Times, but they refused to even acknowledge
my correspondence...!!!! So, in other words, what the public reads in the paper, is the
gospel truth and far as they are concerned....!!!!!!!!! And my cousin, Assoc. Dir. Arthur Weaner,
whose immediate relative was- Lillian MAUS, and a renowned researcher, is discarded in this
case also....!!!! My grandmother- Emma Maus (Haines) Mehring often visited with Lillian Maus
in the 1940's era.. And many people have praised Arthur Weaner for his "outstanding" research
and search capabilities for many years... Arthur believes in real FACTS..

*********************************************************************************************************************************************

Oweing to the Fact, that out of Joh. JAKOB CLAR's family of eight people aboard Ship Samuel,
which arrived at the Port of Phila., PA., Dec. 3, 1740 (List 80, A/B/C, pp. 289-292, PA. German
Pioneers), five died at sea, leaving only SIMON, Barbara & Nicolaus Clar, when the ship arrived
at Phila., PA. The ships' captain, sold them into Indentured Servitude.. (believe that I previously sent
you BackUp copies of proof for this ship's manifest, Barbar's announcement in Sower's Newspaper
six years later, and Nicolaus & Wife being Sponsors at Bapt. of Abraham Hull in Hanover, PA.)..

The only way that I have ever seen Capt. Joh. SIMON CLAAR's name in public records, is as-
SIMON CLAAR (Clar, Klahr, Klohr), however, his Birth/Baptism records also lists Johann Simon Clar..
That is my reason for puttiing one specific name in Cap's and the remaining in small letters.. So
if the computer ONLY recognizies Joh. SIMON Clar as Joh. Simon Clar, then these FACTS have
to be added to each individual.. Or again, I have seen just Johann (John) Claar.. The computer
having dropped his "real" Source name of SIMON..

NOTE: It is "very" important that the records show from Birth, all spellings of the original Name(s) of
each individual, right on through their lifespan's.. Generally, most every individual ended up throughout
their lives with a different Surname spelling, from that of their Birth & Baptism records. And again,
anyone verifying any public records, will run across these different Christian & Surname spellings..
If they do not find one specifically spelling in a record, then they assume that the Author goofed..
Or else, just threw it in for good measure..

Sincerely, John A. Mehring
