Absolutely amazing footage of the comings and goings of nesting robins. Mother robin chose to build her nest on my back deck and I in turn chose to set up cameras in order to document the events that began with the eggs in the nest and follows all of the action up until the new generation of birds jump ship and begin their lives of independence.

This is not an action-packed drama. I suggest that you pick a quiet time, turn off the lights, play your favorite background music and just simply relax and watch nature take its course. Remarkable beauty every day - for example, mother robin tirelessly grooming the nest and keeping it clean, the male and the female robins taking turns sitting on the nest, guarding their offspring while the other leaves to search for food or, perhaps to just "get out of the house" for a while.

I have to confess... the young pecked their way out of their shells during two consecutive nights and so I don't have that particular event - most regrettably. Once hatched though you can see them go, day by day, competing for food with their scrawny little necks extended and their beaks beggingly wide-open. See them growing, as their feathers begin to appear they look like little weaklings wearing vests, blossoming into full feathered regalia and then practicing for the big day when they'd leave home to go out into the Big World on their own.

There is also a scene or two when the adult birds demonstrated their sincere displeasure with my presence - on one occasion I had to duck to avoid being attacked! That one's on film. Great stuff!

Multiple camera angles helps to keep your interest on full alert. Most of the footage is taped with stationary cameras. I'd set the cameras up, let 'em roll and leave the scene so that I could get the most natural behaviors as possible. Many, many remarkable scenes were thus captured.
