Gayle Morris is a Cascade County Commissioner and former mayor of Great Falls. He was arrested in 1999 for DUI and has been found guilty, by a jury of his peers. He was stopped after being observed by a city police officer to be driving back and forth in his lane of traffic and having crossed the center line. His defense attorney proposed that the reason was that Morris was trying to avoid potholes in the road. Defense further contended that Morris failed the field sobriety test because he was wearing new cowboy boots which hurt his feet and impaired his ability to perform the tests. After the verdict, defense stated that Morris was unfairly prosecuted because of his position on the County Commission.

Should Gayle Morris step down from his seat on the County Commission or should he finish his term?
