Tonka Private Label Cyanamid Pickup

Cyanamid was a midwestern fertilizer company and I believe still in business today. Manufactured in 1969
or 1970 the trucks were given to their better customers as a promotion and never available anywhere else.
The shipping carton also doubled as an accessory building. The truck featured is from the Patrick O'Neil
collection.

The Cyanamid truck is difficult enough to find, as is the carton. Seldom found is this heavy paper sheet
featuring a green shingle roof (on the left) that was to be attached to the carton for added realism and
a fertilizer tower/loading chute that could be cut out and assembled to the building.

Also included as a promotional item with the truck were six bags of Cyanamid brand "fertilizer". Each bag, a miniture replica of a fify pound bag of fertilizer, measured approximately 3 1/2 inches in height and 2 1/2 inches wide.

It should be noted the bags actually contain common table salt which is noted on a green and white label adhered to the bottom of the carton.
