Tradeknives
and Tomahawks!

Now that I'm completely addicted to blackpowder shooting and cannons and such, it's a natural tendency for me as a knifemaker to want to make bladed accessories for these! These are really fun to make with so many actual historical examples being preserved and displayed in museums and books.

For now, I'm doing mostly patchknives and D-gaurd bowies. Here's a few I've done so far:

The first two are made from 1084 steel, are differentially hardened (the edge is very hard and the spine is left not as hard)with a very visible temperline. The fittings are wrought iron from some wagon wheels circa 1860-1890. The handles are South Texas harwood and deer bone. They are both available and come with a sheath for $85 each, plus shipping/insurance. This will go up the end of September, so get them now while the price is right!

The third knife was a neat little patchknife made from some forgewelded 1050/1095 steel fitted onto a small deer bone section. This particular one has been sold, but I can make a similar one for $65. Email me for ordering info.
