Modern/Military/Police Knives!

I often get requests for "tactical" blades from friends serving in the armed forces as well as law enforcement and and others just wanting that style. I really love doing these as they always come with unique requets!

Right now, I'm finishing up a set of seven that will go with myself and my crew over to the Democratic Republic of the Congo (Katanga Province). It will be fun to put the sets through some hard endurance testing first hand!

Here's the first one done. The overall length is almost 9", handle is black G-10, blade steel is 5160, pins are pure nickle, entire knife is bead blasted. The blade was differentially heat treated and if you look closely, you can see the transition zone across the ricasso where the bead finish changes. It will get a kydex quick-release sheath.

Well, here's the final version of some of the congo knives. I went back and re-parkerized the one blade, and parkerized both the others. I liked them bead blasted, but the blackened blade works better with the theme. All handles are black G10, one with orange G10 liners. The one on the far right has a small guard that feels great in the hand.

Here's the most recent one. This is also 5160 with a coarse/thick parkerized layer. The handle is black canvas micarta with an orange G10 spacer. The guard is 1022/1095 damascus. This is my knife and will hopefully get packed on a couple trips to the Congo. It didn't get finished in time for the first trip.

If you like any of the above style, a similar knife would cost~ $125-150 depending on options.

This is actually the knife that started my fascination with this style knife. This one was for a Capt. (actually Maj, now!) serving in Afghanistan. I had a good time working with Jim on the specifics of the knife and loved the way it came out. This is also a differentially hardened 5160 blade with black G-10 handle and pearl inlay ( I had to add just a touch of Bling to blend in with local's decorated AK-47s), and a wrought iron guard etched to show the grain. Overall length is ~11".
