Welcome to
DAMASCUS

This page is still in it's infancy, so bear with me until I get it set up.

Welcome to my damascus steel page. Here is where I will share what I know with whoever cares to read. I'll showcase blades and such I make as well as interesting pattern I come up with. I'll also include links to "how to" pages for my billet production and links to other makers who have been doing this longer than I have been able to spell damacus...er..damascuss...damascus.

Before someone emails me with questions, comments or smart remarks regarding damascus steel vs. pattern welded steel, I'm well aware of the difference. For this page, the term will be used interchangeably because damascus is easier to type than pattern welded steel.

On to the patterns that can be done.....

The first is cable damascus made from improved plowshare cable. The second is a composite billet of three steels. The third is a birdseye pattern. Also...check out the mokume! This will become a standard option once I get a bit better at pattern manipulation. It will be used on helms and bladed weapons. Below is the first and second(twice as many layers as first) piece. I will build up the layer counts on the next pieces to get a more dramatic pattern.
