This is an original of mine.
I was influenced by the enless portrayals of hell
having cat-like features. Anyone who's been around
Jennifer's cat knows that this is a good representative
for the devil! In this scene, the jaws of hell have been
opened and the lost souls are escaping to the hands of the
Lord. Two demons are attempting to recapture the souls. As
they get farther from hell, they ghostlike souls begin to
take on more human like features. A fat ghoul can be seen
feasting on the physical bodies of humans in the lower left.
This wasn't symbolic, I just thought it looked cool.
Also notice the brown thorn vines turning into green flowering
vines as they reach out towards heaven.
