I was born to Emmeron and Opal Berylstar in 579. I am the oldest of three, my other siblings being
Diamante and Kaolia. I spent most of my youth with the Fallowfields learning armorsmithing, but when
I returned I spent my young adulthood with my father learning the ways of combat: learning how to
use a variety of weapons and use them effectively.
I thought that Autumn Glen might have had a decent tavern, after all a people that grim would have to
relax somehow. I helped set up the wagons for the night in the best defensive position possible. Yet
against the undead armies that attacked that night, it bought all of about three minutes. I was one
of the first to fall. Still being fairly young and untried in combat I could do little against the
skeleton warrior that came before me. I was able to block a swing or two before the creature dropped
me with one fell swoop.
Lucky for me, I was only struck unconscious, but ten minutes later when I awoke, most of the fighting
was already over. I scrambled about as the bodies of the clan were dissipating around me trying to find
my mother. I tried to force feed my mother a curative potion in order to save her and her healing
abilities, but alas she dissipated just as the potion struck the palm of my hand. Mere moments later I
saw my father's body form on the ground not far from where I sat, his bodied rejected from some earth
circle where he failed to resurrect. Hearing sounds of the undead shambling towards me in the distance,
I fled in grief.
I wandered far to the east, the smallest creature a grave threat in my weakened condition. I eventually
stumbled upon an ogre feasting on the carcass of some recent kill. Needless to say, the ogre felt that
I would make a tasty treat. Fortunately for me, a dwarven scouting party was passing through the area and
was able to save me.
I stayed with the dwarves for the rest of that year before I continued on my way. Yet my time with the
dwarves had left a mark on me. I learned much from them in the ways of armorsmithing, and I even picked
up a little of their native language and now sport a small beard. After I left, I continued west until I
came to the town of Drakenhelm where I meet up with Galena and Aegiryn.
