Family and history of Diamante Berylstar:
In the year 597, the clan was found traveling the mountains of Emuria and happened upon the town of Autumn Glen. Since Kaolia and Dia had been too young to partake in the greater number of festivities that evening, they had remained the wagon when the fighting began. Dia's mother was there to protect them, using her abilities with the celestial magic to their greatest, but she was sorely pressed. She was able to hold back the undead long enough for Kaolia and Dia to escape the wagon. Dia did not see her mother’s fate and she held out little hope of her survival.
Upon discussion with me, Dia was sadly informed that our father had taken his permanent death at the foul hands of those beasts.
Kaolia and Dia, at the tender age of 13, were left to wander the wilderness by themselves. The horrors they had witnessed that night left them feeling vulnerable and alone and they were relieved to a small extent that we had at least each other for the long and lonely days ahead of them. With her meager knowledge of celestial magic Dia was able to protect the two of them from a few creatures. If they happened into a larger scrape, their legs so trained for running from trouble saved them from sure death. The limited amount of knowledge Kaolia’s mother had taught her was enough to keep the two healthy through their arduous journey with determination strong in their hearts.
Two years of traveling took them down from the mountains across the country of Emuria not far from the new town of Ashton. As they drew nearer to the town, rumors floated back to them of Berylstars in the area. Great was their excitement, but doubts still tugged at Kaolia’s travel-weary heart. They decided that Dia would enter the town and return with news, good or bad. Dia set out alone to Ashton and on the outskirts of town she was met by a welcoming sight. Exiting the town with a swagger to his walk and a grin on his face was her very own brother, Kyan! Our reunion was tear-filled (at least in her eyes) and happy. I took her into the town to be rejoined with Galena, the standing bandolier of our clan and granddaughter of Abraxis our former bandolier, and her husband Aegiryn. Dia spent two days in town with her reunited clan members, but finally told us that she needed to leave the town and tell the good news to Kaolia.
Wanting to see my baby sister again, I accompanied Dia, but when we returned to the camp Kaolia and Dia had set, we found her no longer there. We searched the immediate area and found no signs of her and the pain that Dia felt at her disappearance nearly broke her heart. Dia entertained thoughts of her being kidnapped, killed, or worse. I took her back to the town with me and Dia stayed with us, helping Galena and Aegiryn run the Garnet Griffin. We traveled throughout Dyllaria for the next two years, visiting Galavast, River’s End, Lumberton Shire, Coronus, and finally to Helmwood.
It was in January of the year 600 that our small Berylstar caravan traveled to the recaptured town of Helmwood. On those snowy trails was where Dia heard the familiar ring of her lost sister’s voice. Ever since the terrible night of Autumn Glen, Dia had been living a continual reunion with members of the clan, but this one could not have matched the combined reunion of all the members ever. Their joy of seeing each other alive and whole once again was the biggest pleasure for them and you couldn’t have pried us apart with a crowbar! The two of them traveled together, practically hand-in-hand (more like fused at the shoulder) and desired only their own company.
