The Future of Video Gaming

What does the future hold for video games?  Who knew, ten years ago, that we would be playing on systems that are totally 3D?  Or who could have predicted even five years ago that we would have a handheld more powerful than the Super Nintendo?  And yet those things are here.  When my cousin and I were together over spring break, we contemplated about the future of video gaming.  We both agreed that consoles can’t get much better than they already are, I mean what do you want, an interactive movie?  Then we turned to virtual reality.  Virtual reality has actually existed for quite some time, and I myself have played some, though not extensively.  I think that the greatest place for virtual reality is in Disney world, but that is not what I am here to talk about.  My question to you is: When will virtual reality hit the mass market?  Also, if you had to pay $500 for a virtual reality machine that only played Perfect Dark, would you do it?  That is one of the obstacles that virtual reality faces, it will be very hard to make multiple games for one “system”, and my bet is it won’t be cheap.  Well, I personally don’t think virtual reality will be readily available for ten or more years, and by then who knows?  Maybe we’ll be living on the moon. (I doubt it)
