Luigi's Mansion

Launching each system with everyone’s favorite fat, Italian plumber has become tradition. So is Mario getting back-seated by Luigi, his skinny, green brother? Many people fear that Luigi’s Mansion is taking the place of a Mario game for GAMECUBE’s release. I find this hard to believe. If there is ONE think Nintendo should know by now, it is that Mario games sell. Also Mr. Miyamoto said that a Mario game would be at Spaceworld. So, “Wait until Space World”. I know that this term gets redundant but its all people can say. A few months ago it was, “Wait until E3.” Well, I guess its just Nintendo being Nintendo. And if you thought E3 had big surprise, “Wait until Space World!!!” Nintendo hasn’t even brought out many of its biggest guns yet, Perfect Dark Zero, Legend of Zelda GameCube, Metroid Prime (playable or Gameplay), Thornado, Resident Evil Zero, Mario (sunshine?), Turok Evolution, SSX Tricky, NFL Madden 2002 (The demo at E3 was very rushed), etc. etc. But I think it is great that Luigi is getting a little spotlight. I never did understand why he always got the backseat to Mario. The game is an interesting idea, but in my opinion it lacks depth. I’m sure the game is nowhere near completion because I can’t see Mr. Miyamoto creating a game that isn’t fun. He is the king of fun. And the king of Gameplay. So I can’t see Mr. Miyamoto making a thin game. But as it stands it looks like it would get old quick. You tiptoe through a haunted house, and collect ghosts in a vacuum cleaner. Sound fun? Maybe for the first ten 20 minutes. I’m sure the game will change, but with what we saw at E3, It’s not on my long list of must have GAMECUBE titles. .
