~ Update Information ~ The Collection is constantly being updated, either by adding more Smileys to existing Scrapbooks (Pages), by adding new pages to certain Directories or by making some technical improvements. I will always "flag" an UPDATED Directory listed in the Home Page and the Smiley Directory Links Page. The "drop down" menu will show the specific page "updated" or "new" if that is the case. The UPDATED Scrapbook (Page) will have a "flag" at the top of the page. "Flag's" will remain in place for about 30 days. This why it is important to REMEMBER to RELOAD/REFRESH all the pages when you return to the Collection. Changes as of 8/24/03: 24 more BG's in Directory 2/C/6 Changes as of 8/17/03: More backgrounds in Directory 2/C/5. Changes as of 8/15/03: I have recolored BackHearts(color). We had 14 and now have 23 more. Some very interesting results, hope you like them. They are all located in Directory 2/A/7. Changes as of 8/13/03: I have completed converting all "blackface" font to "bold" in all 26 Directories (over 208 pages). Also some major adjustments in the html code for "spacers" and audio. Changes as of 7/31/03: I was able to make some more Lines/Dividers with a few of the bullets I have found. Check Directory 4/B/5, 4/B/6 and 4/B/7 where you will find 91 more. Changes as of 7/25/03: You now have 645 "original" bullets in 5/B, 5/E and 5/F. Recolored versions are in 5/C and 5/D. I have not started recoloring those in 5/E and 5/F. I will be adding some new lines/dividers I have made up. Reached 8050. Changes as of 7/18/03: Added more bullets to 5/E. Four pages are published. We now have a total 465 "original" style bullets in both Directory 5/B and 5/E. More are coming soon. Reached 7829. Changes as of 7/15/03 - (Ref. 7/12/03): Re. Bravenet - The Counter and the Greeting Card services have been deleted. The rest (FFA Links, Vote, Mailing List, Tell-a-Friend) are functioning for ALL, right now. I have found new Counters, but none of them agree with their totals. Re. Guestbook - I have found a new one that Webtv'ers can use and it looks like it will work out great! The link to it is under "Guestbook" in the center of our Home Page and there are buttons at the bottom of various pages. Changes as of 7/12/03: Bravenet.com is NO longer fully compatible with WEBTV. They recently upgraded their site and gave us the raw end of the deal. As far as I can tell, the Guestbook is still working for PC'ers. I could NOT navigate the links there. It remains to be seen on FFA Links, Voter, Maiing List, Smiley Greeting Cards and the rest of the service we were using. Site Search is worthless and I am looking for a replacement. Their Hit Counter is no longer "counting", so I am trying out new one's. Changes as of 7/7/03: Been away from the Collection. Just added a bunch of new "bullets" in Directory 5/B. I moved all the recolored bullets to Directory 5/C and 5/D. Original bullets will be held in 5/B and 5/E and have dozens to add. Later on they will also be recolored. We have passed 7650. Changes as of 5/17/03: I have added new Hi.gif and Bye.gif (from 6/5) in a few pages. "Hi" can be found as a "marquee" in the Welcome Page and a stationary image in our Home Page. "Bye" is a the bottom of Home and a new END Page (12/7), where it also appears as a "marquee" (going "off stage"). 12/7 now has a brand new gradient color plus audioscope (Webtv ONLY features) expressing our thanks for visiting the Collection. I found a great "Calendar" and have added it under a link button at the bottom of Home Page. You'll also find a "Distance Finder" in case you are interested in travel. Changes as of 3/29/03: Due to the lack of response to "Please Sign My Guestbook" I have started adding more links to the Guestbook. Perhaps the problem is that folks are not finding the one and only link in our Home page, thus so few entries. Now you will find a "few" more to help you. Would love to hear from y'all!! Changes as of 3/20/03: Numbers are continuing to cause problems. 7472 images! I am starting to crowd the maximum "size" allowed at 100megsfree. I foresee using an Angelfire account and shipping a bunch of the less appealing images there and listing them in no frills pages. Either that or deleting them....and that would be a shame!! I am really into creating new graphics with the images I have. I spot graphics on the web that have nothing to do with Smileys & the brain.... engages.... If you have viewed the Directory Link lists you have seen that practically every Directory has been updated this month. New Smileys and/or recolored some that I had forgot I even had...as an example, FlashFace in Directory 7/10. (The bg on 7/10 is one that I made). FlashFace also led me to new Lines & Backgrounds. Others: Hi & Bye Smileys in Directory 6/5 More custom Lines: 4/B/1 ---> More custom Backgrounds: 2/B & 2/C More Bullets: 5/B & 5/C Changes as of 3/6/03: Where is it going to end?...7248 and 182 pages...HUH?? Directory 2/1 which has been empty for quite a while now has a "sampling" of images I have created to catch visitor's attention and interest. More custom lines: 4/5, 4/7 & 4/A/6 ---> Three new different "flower" lines. Spotlight lines...different!! Have added them to my Smiley Big Band in 8/5. More bullets: 5/3 and 5/C/1 ---> I took the "halo" off the flying angel and we now have a"bird" New backgrounds: 2/C/4 ---> "Speaker" arrangements (noisy): 3/A/10 & 3/A/11 Created a Smiley Trumpet player: 3/1 New sunflowers: 5/A/6 Changes as of 2/21/03: This is getting crazy...6924 and 177 pages...HUH?? More custom lines: 4/5, 4/6, 4/7, 4/8 & 4/A/1---> Rainbow arrangements I made: 3/A/1, 5/A/8, 5/A/9, 11/7 New backgrounds: 2/C/2 & 2/C/3 Interesting effects in 3/A/8. Caution: IF "strobe" lights affect you, please do not enter. A bunch of new "stars" with a Smiley Heart: 3/A/2+ And a new kind of "star" I developed: 2/1 and 2/C/1 I think you'll like 5/E...5/E/1 has more Sun's (the one in 5/E/2 is not so hot), Flowers in 5/E/3 and wait until you see what I have done with that "sun" in 5/E/4 & 5/E/5. Directory 7: 7/5 has new "recolored" Smileys, 7/2 I decorated Mr. Potato and isolated the "frames" of an odd looking Smiley. 7/8 has a "different" type Smiley. And the "pumpkins" I found are in 7/9, I added a few "touches". Changes as of 1/16/03: Reached 5756 and 145 pages, still at it!! In addition to adding Smileys throughout, these groups are worth mentioning: Assortment of Snowmen, Snowladies & Teddy Bears in 5/8 186 more customized Lines/Dividers in 4/A/1 Found a Pirate image, Played and created a "Pirate Massacre" Here. NOT suitable for young children. Having a ball with "recolor" & "composite" Changes as of 11/30/02: It keeps getting BIGGER, now we are at 5318 and 133 pages. No end in sight! After coming up with the "Gear" series (reported on 11/23/02) I created about 100 more backgrounds using them, now we have about 667 BG's. Consider this: The "color chart" I use has 216 different colors. I used only 42 for my "back...'color'.gif" series. When I created the "Bg..'name'.gif" series I only used about 14 of those, then I took 29 choice images and came up with close to 300 new BG's. What about 3,000+ Smileys done 216 different ways......NOT me!! Changes as of 11/23/02: Numerous Smileys on file have been recolored. We have reached 5075 inside 127 scrapbooks/pages. Changes as of 11/4/02: Two new sub-directories (5/B & 5/C) were added for 1065 "bullets". I started with the original 88 I had and re-colored most of them. Should you find a "bullet" in pages 5/B/1 or 5/B/2 you'd like in a different color? You should find it in the rest of 5/B or 5/C. Take a look at Directory 2/2 - SmileyRebel.gif display. Many Smileys have been added - look for the "update" flags. I installed an HTML code to properly center my webtv pages on a computer screen. Along with a corresponding and/or matching BG color for the surrounding area. On webtv this shows up as neat page "border". Site Search has been revamped and updated. Changes as of 6/6/02: Two more sub-directories (2/B & 5/A) have been added for all the additional re-colored "suns" and a new concept (for me). I created a series of color background gif's for you to customize with your choice of Smiley. You will find a large selection of these customized gif's with a Smiley in place as a "border". By adding all those (500+) we have now reached 3,625 Smiley (type) images. Have started changing the HTML code from "blackface" (Webtv) to "bold". Home has been changed and the new sub-directories have it. I am not sure if I like the results...."blackface" creates an extra wide/thick bold text. I will look at it on a computer and decide. Changes as of 5/10/02: We have created a sub-directory (2/A) for Directory 2 and moved all our backgrounds (181) there. Just a case of "growing pains". Continuing to re-color backgrounds and some of the results are magnificent. Changes as of 5/5/02: Additional links have been added. After viewing any page you now can return to the "Links to Smileys" navigation page. We have added several hundred Smileys. Changes as of 4/21/02: The "Welcome" page now has links to Google's Translator where visitors can view the Collection in Spanish, German, French, Italian or Portuguese. Changes as of 4/8/02: I have added a Table code (width of 544 pixels) to control the appearance of the Collection on a computer. Changes as of 3/9/02: We have changed our "Welcome" page. The original format remains with the recommendation that "new" Visitors take the Site Tour of PopPop's Smiley Collection. For all "repeat" Visitors there is a new link for you to proceed to a NEW "Smiley Directory Links" page. It has the current list of links to our 12 Smiley Directories (as well as all other Collection pages). Similar to the lists found near the bottom of "Home" and "Site Search" pages. Those will remain there, so now you have direct access the "Smileys" from three different locations. Clicking on any of the 12 will take you to a navigation page where you will find links to all the "Scrapbooks" within the "Directory" selected. Besides the new link on the "Welcome" Page, there are links near the top "Home", the bottom of every "Administration" type page (like this one) and...... You will find links to return to this new "Links" page at every "navigation" page and the LAST "scrapbook" page of every "Directory". We have added some new Smiley's we have found and numerous "re-colored" Smiley's, backgrounds and lines/dividers throughout the Collection, please refer to those Directories marked "new or "updated". You may wish to visit Directory 12/4 to see a magnificent Smiley sword. By the way, the "Webtv Viewer" link has been added at the top of this new links page, so you computer folks can view the Collection the same way we Webtv'ers do. On 1/16/02, at the top of our Home Page I added a link to MSN's "The Webtv Viewer" for you computer users to download and be able to see PopPop's Smiley Collection the way it was created on Webtv and the way it is intended to be seen. This was a result of my having had the opportunity to view the site on a computer. I was disappointed at it's overall appearance. On Webtv it looks just great!! On 11/29/01, As promised, I did some flipping/flopping/ color changing at Gifworks.com (Ref. "helpers Page"): 1- With StarRingmaster - Directory 3/4, 3/5, 3/6, 3/7 2- With BikeMotor (motorcycles) - Directory 9/5 3- With Rotates - Directory 10/4 I have also added a few more of MY banners created at FlamingText.com (Ref.
