RE: Bowling For Columbine Preview Advertisement
Dear Sir/Madam:
I am writing to express my concern regarding a recent RCA advertisement that I saw as a preview to “Bowling For Columbine” at Oxford Theatre. I was deeply upset to see an RCA ad using footage of Spain’s “running with the bulls” to promote their products.
Both, RCA and Empire Theatres are promoting animal cruelty by showing this ad. Spain may be well know for its annual “running with the bulls” event but many people do not realize that all of the bulls will end up dying a tortured, painful death in the bullfighting arena. Bullfighting is shown as a glamourous event with the bullfighter in full costume, but there is nothing glamourous about a man taunting and repeatedly stabbing a bull to death. The “running with the bulls” and bullfighting events are barbaric forms of human entertainment and should be banned.
Shame on you, Empire Theatres, for promoting blatant animal cruelty. Please stop showing the RCA “running with the bulls’ advertisement in your theatres.
