RE: Running With The Bulls Advertisement

Dear Sir/Madam:

I am writing to express my concern regarding a recent RCA advertisement that I saw as a preview to a movie. I went to see “Bowling For Columbine” at the movie theatre and was deeply upset to see an RCA ad using footage of Spain’s “running with the bulls” to promote your products.

RCA should be ashamed for promoting animal cruelty by showing this footage. Spain may be well know for its annual “running with the bulls” event but many people do not realize that all of the bulls will end up dying a tortured, painful death in the bullfighting arena. Bullfighting is shown as a glamourous event with the bullfighter in full costume, but there is nothing glamourous about a man taunting and repeatedly stabbing a bull to death. The “running with the bulls” and bullfighting events are barbaric forms of human entertainment and should be banned.

Shame on you, RCA, for promoting blatant animal cruelty and tarnishing your good name. Please stop using the “running with the bulls’ advertisement to promote your products.

Sincerely,

An adapted letter was sent to the Oxford theatre, where the ad was shown.
