To the Daily News Re: Milk
This letter is in response to Terri McCormick's, July 7th article about milk. I'm glad he started to question milk, as every educated person should. After all, why are we drinking the secretions of other animals? Would you drink cat's milk or rat's milk? It's just as nutritious as cows milk. And, why are adults drinking any type of milk? All other living beings stop drinking the milk from their mother before adolescence.

I do agree with Terri that all the studies about good milk vs. bad milk can be confusing. It is essential is to find out who is involved and who is funding each of the studies. Luckily, there is a man who does this for us and the information is at www.notmilk.com under the testimony sections. Yes Terri, there is a conspiracy!

Also, calcium IS found in kale, collards, broccoli, almonds, soy milk, fortified orange juices plus more. Excessive protein leaches calcium from the body - milk is extremely high in protein. Hmm?. And, the Canada's food guide is not only outdated but heavily funded by the meat and dairy industry. I believe what the studies, doctors (Physicians Committee for Responsible Medicine), and the people who have no monetary gain from denouncing milk have to say. Why would I believe the dairy industry when they are just trying to make a profit?
