Welcome to the AHRMA Northwest web site
This web site is a supplement to the main AHRMA
web site, AHRMA OnLine. This site will expand on the AHRMA Vintage moto-cross
& trials calendar for the Northwest region, (Washington, Oregon, Idaho, Northern
Nevada, and Mid to Northern California). Each event listed in the calendar sections
features a link to an expanded information page. These pages will include contacts,
directions/maps to the tracks, area lodging, and other information. This web site will
also feature pictures of the people and the machines that make the AHRMA Northwest region
great!

July N.W. Regional Coordinator Report
(From the July 2009 Vintage Views)
The Cycle Gear Regional/Novation Lumberjack Series event at Clay Peak in
Payette ID was challenged this year with abnormally high temperatures.
Trial Master Marty Paulson did an excellent job of shortening up the loop, while still
offering some challenging sections on Saturday, which was the warmest day. This was the
first trials event at this venue and was well received by the riders and, just as
importantly, the promoter Carl Morse. In fact, Carl requested that the sections be left up
so the local riders could ride them and be introduced to the fun of vintage trials.
Fortunately, Sunday dawned about ten degrees cooler and made for great racing on this
unique track.
My hero, and Pacific N.W. Vintage Coordinator, Randy Skiver, had a Laugh In
tip over in practice. Anyway that was how it was described by a witness. That day, Randy
went on to win the Classic 500, the Premier O.T. and Premier LTW classes. As everyone
knows, that is not unusual, but on the following Wednesday, Randy learned that he had
fractured his collarbone during his tip over.
Carl Morse, of Clay Peak, is very happy to host an AHRMA event and we will be back in
2010.
By the time you read this, Argyl Park in Dixon CA will be over.
On Sunday, July 12, Hannegan Raceway in Bellingham WA is promoting a Cycle Gear NW
Regional/Novation Racing Lumberjack Series. On Sat. July 11, a Powroll/Redwood Engineering
Trial will be held at Hannegan Raceway. Both events are always well done, well liked by
the participants and should be supported.
A reminder of the Speed and Sport National Two Day trial at Donner Ski Ranch in Soda
Springs CA. on July 11 and 12. Even though you might not be a trial rider, come on up to
volunteer to check a section or just watch the action and enjoy the venue in the Sierra
Nevada mountain range.
Another reminder of the PVMX and VMX weekend of July 25 and 26 at the new track Nevada
M.X. Park in Gardnerville, NV. The promoters, Steve Brown and Harvey Keith, are excited
about having an AHRMA event. For those that may be worried about jetting at 4750 feet,
practice is offered between 3:00 to 7:00 PM on Friday, July 24. Please remember to pack
your mufflers. There will be over night parking at the track.
We would like to support the animal shelter that is within 100 yards of the track. If
convenient, please bring a bag of dog and/or cat food which will be donated to the
shelter. If interested, you might also be able to take home a new, loving pet.
On Sat. a swap meet and show will be held at the Corley Ranch, which is a beautiful,
working ranch just one half mile south of the 395/Pine Nut Rd. intersection.
Within minutes of the track, you will find: gambling, trout fishing, antique stores, great
restaurants, and Lake Tahoe.
See you at the races.
